Only you can answer this question but hopefully the following information and tips will encourage you to capture this very special time in your life.
As I specialist maternity and newborn photographer I feel very honoured that parents choose me to capture their pregnancy, this life changing experience and beauty of a new life.
Many clients who book in for a newborn photography session in hindsight regret not capturing their pregnancy and clients who booked a bump – baby session say it’s one of the nicest mementos of their pregnancy they could have had.
Although I would advise to book a professional photographer to capture the later stages of your pregnancy as they have the skills, knowledge, experience, props and expertise to make you and your bump look truly beautiful – there is nothing stopping you from capturing your own maternity milestones for you to look back on in years to come when your little is all grown up and having their own family.
Here are a few tips to document your pregnancy through photography.

Take a photo against a white wall when you first become pregnant and do the same every 6 weeks (in the same place and pose) so that you can see how your body changes over the coming months. At the end you can print them and put them in a scrapbook with dates next to them. A nice touch is to write how many weeks you are on your belly in a black eye liner pencil. Watch your belly as it grows…
